Wedding Considerations
Coordinator
Common Ground requires an in-state wedding coordinator for your event. Please reach out for a list of preferred vendors.
Booking / Payments
Deposit: 50% due at contract signing + $500 security deposit to confirm your date. Remainder due 45 days prior to your event.
Refunds
All fees are non-refundable after payment, unless noted or if Common Ground Ground can rebook the date for a comparable event. If the Client(s) cancel the event, Common Ground will refund the $500 security deposit. If the event needs to be rescheduled, Common Ground will do its best to allow the client(s) to reschedule to an available future date within 90 days of the original event date (subject to pricing changes and a $250 fee). Notices to cancel or change must be in writing.
Overtime
Any time exceeding the contracted timeline will be taken out of the security/overtime deposit at the rate of $1000 per hour billed in 1/2 hour increments. Please adhere to your event timeline submitted to Common Ground and approved ahead of time.
Duration of Event
Per our special use permit, events with 200+ guests must end at 9pm with all guests off property by 9:30pm and all vendors off property by 10:30pm. For events under 200 guests, a 10pm end with guests off the property by 10:30pm may be prearranged, subject to availability.
Portable Restrooms
Client(s) are responsible for providing bathrooms for their guests at a ratio of 1 stall to 50 guests for events on the Lawn or in the Canopy. Air conditioned VIP restrooms trailers are available. for rent on Kauai. If your portable restroom needs power, the client may be responsible for providing it.
Event Equipment
Unless otherwise prearranged, Common Ground provides the venue only. The client is required to provide all vendors, supplies and equipment required for their event including: tents, tables linens, chairs, sound, lighting etc. Common Ground's Event Team may be able to rent these items from its inventory as add-ons to the Venue Rental.
Considerations
Common Ground is a historic and natural setting with ponds without a lifeguard, streams, forests, horse pastures, warehouses, endangered species, etc. Client(s) assume for themselves and their guests all risk for injury, illness and loss during their time on campus.
