FAQs
When is the Common Ground campus going to reopen?
Our campus will not re-open until 2022, until then our team remains busy running the Food Innovation Center programs Accelerator, Incubator, Farm and Marketplace and making our facilities available for select programmatic and certain community events.
Can I get access to Stone Dam through Common Ground?
Until the Common Ground campus is open to the public Stone Dam can only be accessed through the Wai Koa Loop Trail starting by the Wai Koa dog park. The trail is 4.5 miles long and the hike is rated beginner/intermediate for mostly flat terrain.
Common Ground has historically been the gateway to Stone Dam and after construction, we plan to restore public access. Stay tuned for picnic offerings and other specials.

Do you rent the campus out for private events?
We’re building our vision of becoming a place where people come to gather, celebrate, connect, share and create. Whether you are looking for a magical place to celebrate your wedding on Kauai or your special anniversary, or you are looking for an intimate corporate event, Common Ground offers beautiful venues.
We're launching our pilot event program by opening a portion of our campus for venue rental. While Common Ground is still under renovation, we’ve carved out a peaceful oasis for your next gathering.

What is the Food Innovation Center (FIC)?
Reimagining agricultural-based commerce in Hawai`i, Common Ground Kaua'i launched the Food Innovation Center to scale an integrated system of businesses built around high value-added agricultural products.
The Food Innovation Center is founded on a collaborative economic model that can be applied throughout the Hawaiian islands to enhance food security, test product innovation, create jobs, and foster economic empowerment. The four program pillars are:
1) Farming@Common Ground blends traditional tropical agroforestry techniques with state-of-the-art biological farming practices, building healthy soil, cultivating biodiversity, and vastly improving yields per acre.
4) Distribution@Common Ground will enable local companies, including graduates of the Accelerator and Incubator programs, to market their products to a broader audience and generate additional revenue via our online Shop for Kaua`i-made, sustainably sourced, value-added products
