Exploring Common Ground

A Regenerative Farm Experience

Weekly Farm Tours are Back!
Thursdays and Fridays 4-6PM

The farm tour meanders through a regenerative food forest, designed by Director of Agroecology John Parziale, where he and his team explain its intricate and interconnected systems. Fittingly, the experience ends with a sunset pau hana, the beloved island tradition synonymous with happy hour with beer or wine* and island to table pupus on Common Groundʻs magnificent campus.

Common Ground's food forest reveals a symphony of relationships between Hawaiian favorites such as ulu, kava, and taro, Amazon rainforest specimens, annual vegetables, mushrooms, egg-laying chickens, and dairy cows, offering visitors a snapshot of what the farm of the future could look like.

A fruit tasting showcases exotic and traditional fruits. Afterward, guests connect over farm-crafted beer and wine* and pupus, surrounded by verdant mountains and the tranquil light of golden hour.

The perfect ending to a day of exploration on Kauai's North Shore, Common Ground farm extend a vision of interconnectedness between humans and our planet that any person, local or tourist, will take home with them.

Guests are invited to arrive 1-hour early, at 3:00pm, to walk up to Stone Dam.  Stone Dam and Wai Koa Loop Trail are protected in perpetuity by Hawaii Land Trust.

* Wine and beer available for purchase.

Customer Reviews

Fantastic talk and tour about how regenerative farming can work. It was great to sample the foods grown on the farm and sample products from their startup incubator.

Common Ground provided an experience that connected us with planet earth again. We spoke about how to help the planet through sustainable agricultural work and then toured the farm to see it in action, eating native fruits along the way! After visiting a historic area of the farm we returned to an organic farm to table lunch that was amazing!! Spectacular tour with informed and dedicated staff, highly recommend
